President Donald Trump is threatening to ban “dulUTH” underwear from the United States if it doesn’t comply with his immigration ban, according to a source close to the president.
“He’s talking about the underwear that’s going to be sold on the streets of America,” the source told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.
“We’ve got a bunch of underwear that he wants banned.
He’s going around saying it’s not allowed.
He just wants to put it on the back burner for a bit.
But if they don’t comply, he’ll be able to get them off the streets.”
A White House official told CNN’s Brooke Baldwin that the president’s order “does not prohibit the importation of any goods that may be prohibited by this order.”
The source said Trump was not making any such claims, but was instead focusing on what’s “underwear.”
“It’s underwear,” the White House said in a statement.
“It is illegal for the government to ban or regulate the sale of underwear.”
Trump’s order will also block U.S. Customs and Border Protection from enforcing a “temporary restraining order” against imports of certain items.
